Support Groups: Initial Success

By | November 15, 2011

As expected new patients and patients of longstanding bonded.

I am pleased to report that the initial meeting of the Schlesinger Pain Centers Support Group last night was an unqualified success. Patients with different diagnoses and different treatment regimens traded stories. As expected new patients and patients of longstanding bonded and set up role model relationships. According to plan Melissa served successfully as a facilitator and not really as a participant.

Quite unexpectedly at the end of an hour the participants complained that they were just getting started and demanded more frequent meetings. With an eye toward making this the best chronic pain support group in Los Angeles plans are already under way to add a second monthly meeting. We hope that our new best chronic pain support group in LA will move to a weekly schedule early in the New Year.
