In Search of the Best Pain Clinic in LA: Complimentary and Alternative Medicine

By | December 8, 2011

CAM & western allopathic medicine form a continuum. The choice of therapy depends on the symptoms and often changes over time.

I would like to return to one of our favorite themes, the search for excellence in pain management. One of the best discriminants involves complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM). While many chronic pain facilities in town offer different aspects of CAM, very few offer a wide selection of techniques and even fewer are able to integrate complimentary and alternative medicine with standard western allopathic medicine. We at Schlesinger Pain Centers see all types of therapy as forming a continuum. We often use epidural injections, trigger-point injections, acupuncture, decompression therapies, physical therapy, yoga therapy and massage in the treatment of neck pain. The choice of therapy is determined by the type and severity of symptoms and often changes over the course of treatment.
