Fred Couples, current Masters Leader (Image by Flickr user SN#1)

I’d like to take a break from our series, In Search of the Best Pain Clinic in Los Angeles, to reflect on Fred Couples’ spectacular play at the Masters. Couples shot a blistering 5 under par 67 yesterday to become the oldest player ever to lead the Masters after 2 rounds. Fred is one of the nicest guys in the game. I met him a few years ago up at Sandpiper. Jody and I were finishing an early morning round and Couples was making the turn. He was sitting in his cart, eating his lunch and talking to the other golfers. Fred Couples is the kind of guy that you take an instant liking to and it gets better from there. I will follow the rest of the tournament with even more interest knowing that Fred is carrying the banner for the rest of us over the hill guys.
