The World is a Stage

Sometimes the players rise to the occasion and other times they fail. C’est la vie.

When I was doing some research for the Games People Play series of blogs, I came across a number of quotes using play in the theatrical sense that were just too good to pass up, so this weekend we will inaugurate a new series of blogs entitled The World is a Stage. The first is from Oscar Wilde, one of the cleverest and most depraved writers of the nineteenth century who said, “The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.” I often find myself, both at Schlesinger Pain Centers and at home, called upon to do things, which are outside my area of comfort, as I am sure you do. But in life as in the theater, sometimes the players rise to the occasion and sometimes they fail. C’est la vie.
