The Best Pain Clinic in LA, A Physician’s Perspective: Stellate Ganglion Blocks (Part III)

By | July 11, 2012

This it the last place you need to look for about the truth about stellate ganglion blocks.

Despite the advances in technology, the stellate ganglion block is being ordered less and less frequently. The reasons for this are largely the same as for relative disuse of selective nerve root blocks (SNRB). Stellate ganglion blocks have a reputation for being difficult, dangerous, rare and nonremunerative. Add to this the fact that most physicians who have done the blocks in the past are not trained to use ultrasound and that ultrasonic needle guidance has a very steep learning curve and most physicians simply prefer not to offer this service. At Schlesinger Pain Centers we understand that it is part of our job to keep up with the latest advances in technology and offer the best service possible even for rare chronic pain conditions.
