2012 Open Championship: The Attack Continues

By | July 21, 2012

Escaping from the 205 pot bunkers at Royal Lytham can be a test of the player’s skill and patience.

Another day of scant showers, moderate temperatures and light winds, in short perfect golf weather, on Friday yielded course conditions favoring shot makers and producing exciting movement on the leaderboard at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. American Brandt Snedeker shot a 6 under par 64 on Friday tying Adam Scott’s opening round score and moving him one shot ahead of the Australian into sole possession of first place. Tiger Woods shot a steady 3 under par 67 for an undisputed hold on third. Today’s forecast is for more good weather with moderate clouds, light winds and slightly warmer temperatures in the mid sixties. This should provide more exciting action and the possibility of significant changes on the leaderboard. I am sure that someone in our foursome will have his iPhone set to the Open Championship website during our round today in the Tarzana Mini Invitational (my regular Saturday game).
