The Future of American Healthcare

Though the government continues to make its best efforts, they need to realize that a one size fits all healthcare system will not work.

I would like to begin a series of blogs today dealing with the future of American Healthcare and the implications for both providers and patients. When making predictions about the features of the system, the pundits always make the mistake of assuming that there is a single answer. The American Healthcare System of the future is likely to be as varied as the American Auto Industry and while the influence of the federal government is likely to remain strong, it is unlikely that a true single payer system emerge because one size fits all solutions rarely work. America is a country of individualists and once some of the factors, which have lead to pricing aberrations, largely in the hospital sector, are resolved I expect the free market to once again provide the kind of choices that Americans demand.
