He said relieve pain and ally suffering, right?

As I sit here writing this blog I am waiting for them to take my patient into surgery, for one of my least favorite cases, the Friday Morning Cancer Pump (IDDS). Fridays are usually very busy days in the office and this is likely to make me late. In addition I will almost certainly have to come in to see Robert (not his real name) once or twice this weekend to adjust the settings on his pump, but the trial was really finished early this week. I left the trial catheter in for an extra two days, but didn’t feel that it was safe to leave it much longer and I couldn’t justify making Robert wait until next week to get real pain relief if there was OR time available now. So here I am, waiting to do … Did I say least favorite cases? I meant most favorite cases. After all that’s why I do what I do, to relieve pain and allay suffering. At the best pain clinic in Los Angeles, the day of the week really doesn’t matter.
