Back Exercises – Clam Shells

By | April 23, 2014

Clam Shells work the glutei, with emphasis on the gluteus medius. As with so many of these exercises form is important. The pelvis must be held still and vertical or most of the movement will be in the back and not the hips. At Schlesinger Pain Centers this is one of the first exercises we introduce and one that remains in the regimen essentially ad infinitum.
